Terms and Conditions

Please read these terms carefully before using our services

1. Introduction

These Terms and Conditions ("Terms") govern your use of the services provided by Oileán Mobile Mechanics ("we," "us," "our," or "the Company"), a mobile car servicing business operating in Ireland. By booking our services, you ("Customer," "you," or "your") agree to be bound by these Terms.

2. Services Provided

2.1 Service Description

We provide mobile car servicing at your location, including but not limited to:

  • Engine oil changes and oil filter replacements
  • Air filter inspections and replacements
  • Fuel filter replacements (petrol and diesel)
  • 9-point safety checks
  • Brake services
  • Battery checks and maintenance

2.2 Service Packages

  • Petrol Service Package (€150): Oil change, oil filter replacement, air filter replacement, 9-point safety check
  • Diesel Service Package (€180): Oil change, oil filter replacement, air filter replacement, fuel filter replacement, 9-point safety check
  • À La Carte Services: Individual services available at listed prices

2.3 Service Area

Services are provided within our designated service area of Tuam and surrounding areas in Ireland. Additional travel charges may apply for locations outside our standard service area.

3. Booking and Appointments

3.1 Booking Process

Services can be booked by:

3.2 Appointment Confirmation

All appointments must be confirmed by us before services are provided. We reserve the right to decline service requests at our discretion.

3.3 Access Requirements

Customers must ensure:

  • Safe and legal parking access for our service vehicle
  • Adequate space to perform services safely
  • Vehicle keys and any necessary access codes are available
  • Any pets are secured during service provision

4. Pricing and Payment

4.1 Pricing

All prices are quoted in Euros (€) and include all applicable taxes. Prices are subject to change without notice, but confirmed bookings will honor the quoted price.

4.2 Payment Methods

We accept:

  • Cash payments on completion of service
  • Online payments via Stripe (credit/debit cards)
  • Bank transfers (by prior arrangement)

4.3 Payment Terms

  • Online Payments: Payment is processed immediately upon booking
  • Cash Payments: Due upon completion of service
  • Failed Payments: Services may be suspended for failed or disputed payments

5. Consumer Rights (EU Consumer Rights Directive)

5.1 Right of Withdrawal

For online bookings, you have the right to withdraw from the contract within 14 days of booking without giving any reason. However, if you expressly request that services begin within the withdrawal period, you may lose this right once services are completed.

5.2 Cancellation Policy

  • 24+ hours notice: Full refund or rescheduling available
  • Less than 24 hours: 50% cancellation fee may apply
  • No-show: Full service charge applies

5.3 Service Guarantee

We guarantee our workmanship for 30 days from service completion. If you experience issues directly related to our service within this period, we will rectify the problem at no additional cost.

6. Liability and Insurance

6.1 Our Liability

We maintain comprehensive public liability insurance and professional indemnity insurance. Our liability is limited to:

  • Direct damages caused by our negligence
  • The cost of remedying defective work
  • Maximum liability of €10,000 per incident

6.2 Limitation of Liability

We are not liable for:

  • Pre-existing vehicle defects or damage
  • Consequential or indirect losses
  • Loss of use of vehicle beyond reasonable repair time
  • Damage caused by customer's failure to follow maintenance recommendations

6.3 Customer Responsibilities

Customers are responsible for:

  • Providing accurate information about their vehicle
  • Disclosing any known defects or previous repairs
  • Ensuring vehicle is safe to service
  • Removing valuable items from the vehicle

7. Health and Safety

7.1 Safety Compliance

We comply with all relevant health and safety regulations and maintain appropriate safety equipment and procedures.

7.2 Environmental Responsibility

We dispose of all waste materials (oil, filters, etc.) in accordance with Irish and EU environmental regulations through licensed waste disposal services.

7.3 COVID-19 and Health Measures

We follow current government health guidelines and may implement additional safety measures as required.

8. Data Protection and Privacy

8.1 Data Processing

We process personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and Irish Data Protection Act 2018. See our Privacy Policy for detailed information.

8.2 Data Retention

Customer data is retained for legitimate business purposes and legal compliance requirements, typically for 7 years for financial records.

9. Complaints and Dispute Resolution

9.1 Complaints Procedure

If you have a complaint:

  2. We will acknowledge your complaint within 2 business days
  3. We aim to resolve complaints within 14 days

9.2 Alternative Dispute Resolution

If we cannot resolve your complaint, you may refer the matter to:

  • European Consumer Centre Ireland
  • Small Claims Court (for claims under €2,000)

9.3 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by Irish law, and any disputes will be subject to the jurisdiction of Irish courts.
